For wellness clinics

Marketing for physiotherapy, chiropractic and multidisciplinary clinics

Patients do not choose a wellness clinic the way they choose a dentist. They are usually in pain, often sent by someone else, and deciding on a practitioner rather than a building. That changes what the marketing has to do, so we treat it differently.

What we see

Four things that keep coming up in wellness clinics

The enquiry never becomes a first assessment

Someone asks whether you take their insurance, whether they need a doctor's referral, and what a first visit costs. If those answers are slow or vague, they go and ask another clinic, and you never learn that you lost them. This is the single widest gap we find in wellness clinics.

Patients are choosing a practitioner, and your site hides them

A patient with a shoulder problem wants to know who they will actually see, what that person treats, and whether they have dealt with this before. A clinic-level page cannot answer that. Practitioner pages do a disproportionate amount of the converting on a wellness clinic site, and most clinics treat them as an afterthought.

Care plans stop early and nobody follows up

Someone books an assessment, comes twice, starts feeling better, and disappears halfway through a plan. The clinical outcome suffers and so does the schedule. Most clinics have no consistent way of reaching back out, so it depends entirely on which front desk staffer noticed.

You are competing with the clinic in the same plaza

Wellness clinics cluster. In much of the GTA there are several within a few minutes of each other offering an overlapping list of services, and the difference a patient can see online is often nothing more than which one has more recent reviews and a site that loads.

What we do about it

Where we usually start with a wellness clinic

  • Put the answers people actually ask before booking, on insurance, referrals and first visits, where they can be found in seconds
  • Build proper practitioner pages, so a patient can choose a person rather than a phone number
  • Write service pages for the conditions you treat, in the words patients use to describe them
  • Audit the local search results for each of your locations, since clustered clinics compete street by street
  • Set up a consistent way of asking for reviews and following up on care plans that stalled
  • Add paid search only where the audit shows it will earn its budget
